Jr Developer Training Curriculum
As the senior developer at MODintelechy, the responsibility of training junior developers fell onto me. This took the form of a custom training program in addition to answering technical questions.
The training program followed a simple structure – build something and get feedback through a code review. Each training segment started out with an in person review of the assignment and a short lecture on specific things to pay attention to and some specific execution guidelines. The assignment was to build out a portion of a previously built client project – ensuring the assignment was extremely practical. After they completed the assignment, we had a sit down meeting with the technical team to review the code and provide suggestions on how it could have been made better.
From there, the training program adjusted based on their performance. The next assignment was created specifically to focus on any weaknesses shown from the previous assignment.
